SABF Edition 2011
Main Topic of SABF Edition 2011:
Facing exponential times
The past decades have been characterized by an increasing amount of change, taking place in an increasingly smaller period of time. Nowadays, the rate of change is accelerating: dynamics of societies, economies, relationships, business, and even knowledge are continuously and rapidly transforming. Therefore, what should be analyzed is not whether it is actually occurring or not, but what to do to face it.
The evolution of globalization had a turning point. New technologies derive in a new way of doing business, altering formal interactions and Information access. Consequently, social dynamics have been transformed.
Economies are experimenting different rates of growth and evolution. Some traditionally powerful countries need to recur to extreme measures to sustain their economies, while other traditionally emerging economies have achieved growth, now reaching unimaginable development.
Educational systems are facing a global crisis. The educational paradigm needs to change. The most important thing is to be able to adapt to changing scenarios, and to take the best of each individual. Standardized education as we know it is definitely not the answer if we want more capable professionals. It is our goal to discuss all of these issues, and to find new ways of facing them, in order to have better leaders for tomorrow.

Testimonial (in German)
Roswitha Prassl, Student Business Aministration and Busines Law (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien):
